the bodyguard shipping meme

You're a pop star, or a royal, or maybe even the last of your kind who will bring about the Earth's redemption. Whatever the case may be, you're in a position that may be a bit dicey if you attract the wrong kind of attention.
And you're a bodyguard, a soldier, a knight - a protector. Somehow, you've been roped into protecting this person. You'll be rewarded, of course. The work may be cut out for you, but just do your job, keep your head down, and it'll go smooth.
Except for when the two of you break the bounds of professionalism and feelings begin to flourish. Being in such close quarters may get you to see the other in a different light, and saving someone's life just may be the ultimate form of intimacy.
Could this be the real danger? To feel so strongly for the one you've sworn to protect...are you compromised?
How to Play
1. Comment with your character and preferences, being sure to put if you want to play the guard, the guarded, or either. Also, you may want to put if you prefer fluffy, angsty, or smutty interaction - or have no preference. 2. Comment to others. 3. There are no prompts, because there are so many potential options there could be a hundred. Feel free to play anything: the beginnings of the relationship, just meeting, getting used to each other/not getting along at first, the obligatory first time, a threat on the protected's life and how their protector responds, how the feelings between the two has changed the protection, etc. Your only limit is you. |

Still, the idea was unsettling. Lithuania's hand goes to his dagger just to reassure himself it was still there--maybe that's not appropriate attire for this function, but nobody can see it under the cloak, anyway, and he didn't feel right at all going completely unarmed.

"However, it would have still been super painful for me if I'd stuck around. Maybe even agonizing." Poland brings a finger to his lips, shushing Lithuania gently. "Maybe we should get some distance from here? Til it's safe or something."

Poland patted down his side, looking quite pleased that the bottle of wine he strapped to his waist didn't break in the scuffle.
"I can't believe you didn't know though, I thought for sure you were following me because you wanted to protect me from harm. You know. All chivalrous and charming and the like. I mean I couldn't be in safer hands than yours, right?"
no subject
"I was worried you were going to get hurt climbing down the tree," Lithuania said--and considering Poland did fall a little, that was entirely reasonable! "But, ah, now that I know I can keep watch for anything else, too."
Is that really charming? Lithuania feels pretty hopelessly out of his element when it comes to that sort of thing.

Poland should probably feel a bit of shame for abusing Lithuania's trust like this. He definitely doesn't, but he probably should.
"Come on. We'll just disappear for a few hours and come back when they give word. It'll be fine." Poland reached for Lithuania's hand, moving to pull him away into the cover of darkness. "I know a place no one will expect me."

"Alright, if you know somewhere..."
no subject
"Ta daaaaaa."
Dark. Engulfed by tall waves of rye. Poland was sure that no one would find them for hours.
no subject
"Here?" People could come from any direction here. Of course, it is true that it's hard to find anyone in the fields, as long as they're quiet. But keeping Poland quiet... "Wouldn't somewhere inside be safer?"
no subject
Poland looked up at the sky with a grin, watching the stars twinkle in the distance. This was so much better than that stupid, stuffy party.

Not heeding Lithuania's criticism in the least, Poland moves to pull out the bottle of wine and the assorted snacks he smuggled from the party on to a handkerchief.

Poland is, ironically, treating this like some weird rye party, and it's stressing Lithuania out.

Poland popped a grape into his mouth, patting the space next to him insistently.
"You standing up like that is making it super obvious we're in here. Sit."
no subject
Of course, at least if Poland eats, that would make sure he didn't start shouting or anything.
no subject
"I wouldn't do that. See?" He holds out a grape for Lithuania, between his two fingers.
"Now say, ahhhh."

no subject
"Ah... did you eat already or something?"
no subject
no subject
"Oh. Uh."
Were grapes always this heavy? Does he drop it? Hand it over? Should he have just eaten it?
no subject
Finally, Lithuania just grabs the grape and puts it in his mouth himself.
no subject
He has never been more relieved in his entire life to watch someone eat something before.
"You like it then? Er. The grape?"
no subject
"It's good. Thank you."
no subject
"You probably have a lot of experience in this, huh? People coming after you, what with that whole pagan thing."

"Don't leave me in the dark. Tell me how you'd kick his butt and then tell me how you'd beat on an assassin!" He liked when Lithuania told stories, it meant he didn't have the burden of coming up with things to say to him.
